Hi mate,
and thanks for the welcome, after asking if anyone has used one i noticed a thread further down ( Easytucker) which explains it, after stretching the fluffy stuff onto the smoothedge it tucks the carpet into the skirting, you then cut in and then use it to tuck. its like a metal block with a handle on wheels.

Hows Greg Halford done for you since he came down to you?

They are fast to use, but it is down to the individual if they like using the tool some people still dont use dolphins even though they out sell every other type of knife. Any way you will find speed catts listed at carpetfittersshoponline.co.uk and in stock!

Default are they both

not the same thing?. Easytucker is a handle with a wheel and the speedcatt a aluninium block with wheels even though they do the same job sorry if im in the wrong direction here.Speedcatt is easy to use once used to it gulley versus carpet thickness needs nurturing and its pricey but on big jobs less time spent on your knees. My advice is get as many modernage fitting tools as you can afford to get hold of hope ths helps.

Thumbs up hi all

hello everyone. first post......does floorguy come on here? iv,e left the another site cos he does my head in

ive been fitting for 25yrs run a supply and fit business and have used different techniques on different carpets and vinyls since i started out.

iv,e used a speed catt since they came out, i suffer from a mild arthritis so the speed catt makes things easy on the hand and wrist joints, and is far far quicker, everyone seems to have little different quirks to their fitting. i find if you kick cut tuck, the speedcatt cant be beaten, quick and a perfect finish (what we all want)
if your a fitter that cuts kicks and tucks with a bolster or hook then it may not be the tool for you unless you hook the carpet onto the gripper to hold it then run the tucker after but thats four passes up a wall instead of three, (more time)

its an efficient tool and i highly recommend it.
